How about this for a New Year’s resolution: compete in Go Code Colorado 2018, work that big brain of yours and add exercising your creativity to your fitness routine? Unlike a new gym membership, there’s no cost to compete.
In case your holiday season included near-amnesia-inducing overindulgences in eggnog or latkes, here’s a Go Code Colorado refresher for you.
Go Code Colorado challenges multidisciplinary teams—software developers, designers, marketers, entrepreneurs and other big thinkers and doers—to turn public data into useful business insights and tools. Teams must marry public data with technology to create mobile or web-based apps, visualizations, or other digital tools to help Colorado businesses.
So, if you have a passion for innovation, open data, business intelligence or a vibrant Colorado, plan to get yourself to the Go Code Colorado Kick-off Event, where we’ll unveil the 2018 challenge statement and celebrate Colorado tech and entrepreneurship.
team? No team? No problem!
At the Go Code Colorado Kick-off, you can celebrate the new year with old friends, new friends and yet-to-be-discovered (but not imaginary!) friends. The Kick-off is THE place to learn about this year’s challenge statement and to network. If you already have a team, you can do a little team building while toasting with great beer. Perhaps your team could use a few more members? No team at all? The Kick-off is a good place to mingle and start growing a team, with more opportunities to come during the 2018 Road Show and Challenge Weekend.
- Road Show
February 13 – March 20, 2018
Join us as we take the kick-off on the road! Events take place across Colorado and offer a chance to meet potential team members, the Go Code Colorado organizers, and to learn more about how to set yourself up for success when you compete.
- Challenge Weekend
April 13 – 15, 2018
The Go Code Colorado 2018 Challenge Weekend takes place in five Colorado cities at the same time (Denver, Durango, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and Grand Junction), with opportunities on Friday night and Saturday to find a team or find talent for an existing team. Teams pitch their ideas at the conclusion of the weekend, and two teams from each location are selected as finalists.
Be sure to visit the updated Go Code Colorado website to check out our fresh new 2018 Go Code identity and learn more about the 2018 competition, including how to form a team and what makes a good team.
You can also reach out to Go Code organizer, Heather Stafford, if you’re wondering how you can be a valuable part of a team and don’t know where to start, if you’re interested in sponsoring or volunteering, or if you have questions the website can’t answer.
SAVE THESE DATES TOO!
Two teams from each Challenge Weekend location will move on to an exclusive Mentor Weekend. They’ll also present their final Go Code Colorado entries at the Final Competition Event.
